I moan as a loud bell rips through the air.

“What is that?” I groan, rolling over and curling around Alex like a koala.

Laughter makes his body jiggle. “The doorbell, Vixen.”

I groan again. “Who?”

“I called in a favour for the birth control situation,” he confesses.

“Firstly, do you know how desperate that makes you sound?” He laughs, but it’s pained, proving just how desperate he is. Cracking my eyes open, I look down at his body, and just as I suspected, tented sheets greet me. My mouth waters, but I stay on track. “And secondly, who the hell turns up at this time?”

“It’s almost midday,” Alex points out.

“Oh.”

He chuckles again, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.

“And yes, I am desperate. But only if you are, too. No pressure, okay? I just want to get this sorted in case we slip up.”

“Slip up?” I ask teasingly. “Or slip in?”

“Oh, baby. There will be no slipping in. When I push inside you for the first time, you’ll know about it.”

My thighs clench and my core pulsates, impatient to know exactly how it does feel.

The bell rings again, making Alex jump into action. “I’d better go let them in before they change their minds.”

He slips out of bed before tugging on a pair of boxers and stalks out of the room, my eyes watching his every move.

“Keep looking at me like that, Vixen, and we’ll be testing this out sooner rather than later.”

“I can’t wait,” I whisper, but he’s already gone, racing down the stairs to let whoever he’s invited in to help with this little situation. All I can hope is that he’s managed to sink his boner before he greets them.

Hello, the woman I own needs birth control, and as you can see, I can’t wait a second longer.

I laugh at my own ridiculous thought before swinging my legs over the edge of the bed.

I might be about to talk to these strangers about something very intimate; I don’t need to be in bed and naked for it as well.

I’ve peed, brushed my teeth and pulled on a tank and pair of shorts by the time there’s a knock on the bedroom door.

“Hey,” Alex says, his boyish smile making my stomach flip-flop wildly.

“Hey.”

I stand awkwardly in the room as he walks inside with two older ladies behind him.

Both of their eyes land on mine, soft smiles playing on their lips.

“These two are the best nurses in the city. Whatever you need, they’ve got you covered. Promise, Vixen.” He winks, his smile growing wider. Two such simple moves shouldn’t make me relax as much as I do, given the circumstances.

I smile nervously at both of them.

“Okay, I’ll leave you to it. Be nice,” he warns, looking at the two of them before he slips from the room.

“Hi Evie, it’s so good to meet you. I’m Gianna.”

I expect her to walk over and shake my hand or something; the last thing I’m expecting is for her to pull me into a hug.

“Oh… uh… hi.
